The Effectiveness of Using Videos Documentation to Improve the Students ’ Ability to Writing Descriptive Paragraph at The Ninth Grade of MTS YAPIS Pattiro Bajo

This thesis presents research about the effectiveness of using video
documentation to improve the students‟ ability in writing descriptive paragraph at
the ninth grade of MTS Yapis Pattiro Bajo. This research used a quantitative
method. The sample consisted of 40 students, 20 students from class experimental
group and 20 students from class control group of MTS Yapis Pattiro Bajo. The
aims of this research to know the using of video documentation effective in
teaching writing comprehension at ninth grade students of MTS Yapis Pattiro
Bajo.
The result of this research mean score before and after treatment, After
doing research that the use of video documentation is proven to be more effective
to improve students' ability in writing descriptive than using a test book. Students
prefer to use video documentation because it is more interesting and boring, not
only that, on the other hand, students can also be more advanced and develop
following this very rapid technological era. It can be seen from the comparison
data between the mean score of post test was significantly higher than pre test
(78,7000 > 67,1000)
A. Conclusion
Based on the data analysis and the discussion in the previous chapter, the
researcher concludes that:
After doing research that the use of video documentation is proven to be
more effective to improve students' ability in writing descriptive than using a
test book. Students prefer to use video documentation because it is more
interesting and boring, not only that, on the other hand, students can also be
more advanced and develop following this very rapid technological era. It can
be seen from the comparison data between the mean score of post test was
significantly higher than pre test (78,7000 > 67,1000)
B. Suggestion
Based on the conclusion above, the researcher addresses the following
suggestions:
1. It is strongly suggested that using video documentation in writing
descriptive paragraph be continually implemented in students in order
to avoid monotonous material.
2. For the improvement of the teaching English, the researcher suggest to
the English teacher especially writing descriptive paragraph should
give the good method or media in teaching English based on the
students' motivation.
