This research explores the strategies used by teachers in overcoming the
speaking difficulties of class VIII students at MTs Al Hidayah Bakke. Through a
descriptive qualitative approach, the data collection method involves classroom
observations and interviews with teachers who teach English. The research
results reveal that teachers have succeeded in implementing several effective
learning strategies. They use active communication to actively engage students in
the learning process, which helps strengthen their English speaking skills. In
addition, collaboration and group discussions provide students with the
opportunity to practice speaking English with peers, while building mutual
respect and cooperation. Giving homework that involves speaking English has
also proven effective in improving students' speaking skills outside of class.
Although teachers have successfully implemented these strategies, they face
several challenges, including differences in student ability levels and behavioral
problems that must be addressed tactfully. The importance of building positive
relationships with students was revealed as a key factor, by maintaining good
communication and understanding students' needs and feelings. With a clear,
simple, and understanding approach to students, teachers create a solid
foundation for the development of students' English speaking skills, preparing
them for success in English learning
