The Effectiveness Of Children Songs Toward Students’ Motivation In Listening Comprehension At Seventh Grade Of Mts Miftahul Khaer Mare

This thesis presents research on the activity of analyzing the
effectiveness of a method in learning English. This study used a qualitative
method. The participants of this study consisted of 10 students. Miftahul Khaer
Mare. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of children's songs on the
students’ motivation in listening comprehension.
This thesis is intended to solve a problem in learning English,
especially in students' listening skills. The study used three instruments, they were
test, interview, and observation. Based on the results of the interview, it was
found that students liked, enjoyed, and actively listened to children's English
songs. From the observations seen from interviews and test results, it was found
that children's English songs were effective in increasing students' motivation in
listening comprehension.
A. Conclusion
Learning English using songs is one of the alternative solutions that
teachers can use to teach listening comprehension to find out the
effectiveness of children's English songs on student motivation. It makes
students more relaxed in learning, so they can understand it easily. Research
on seventh-grade students of MTs Miftahul Khaer Mare obtained several
objectives of listening comprehension,
Based on the results of interviews found in the effectiveness of children's
English songs. The first is related to the feeling when learning English,
especially in listening. From the research, it shows the feeling of pleasure
from MA, NS, SY, MT, A.NA, RR, MN, MS, AND IN students. The second
is related to the teaching method given. the third difficulty in listening to
songs in English. The fourth is related to feelings including likes and dislikes,
the fifth question is understanding or not understanding. Teaching methods
have an influence on learning to listen.
B. Suggestion
1. For Teacher
Like us, English teachers must have strategies when teaching in the
classroom. So that students will be more active and do not feel bored
learning. One strategy is to provide interesting songs that will motivate
students in listening comprehension and practice listening a lot because it
has a lot of influence to improve their English skills.
2. For students
The students should learn more about English. the students have to
improve their achievement, students have to learn more actively to increase
their vocabulary. So, students easily improve all skills.
3. For researchers
For other researchers, especially for further researchers, it is better to start
from now on to learn about research methods and this research can be a
reference for making research related to this research
