friendship circles in their learning motivation. It was found that students
consider friendship circle as a circle that could provide motivational support
such as getting emotional encouragement, the need to learn together, a
conducive learning environment and finding their self-esteem.
A. Conclusion
The results of this study show that friendship circles play an important
role in influencing students' English learning motivation. Motivated friends
who perform well in English can be a source of inspiration and encourage
other students to study harder. In addition, peer support, healthy competition
and a positive learning environment in the circle of friends can create a
conducive learning climate and encourage English learning motivation.
However, it should be noted that the circle of friends can also have a
negative impact if the friends in the circle are not supportive or even show a
negative attitude towards learning English. In this situation, it is important for
teachers and parents to provide appropriate guidance and support so that
students can maintain their high motivation to learn.
The results of this study provide valuable insights for educators and
parents in understanding the importance of friendship circles in influencing
students' English learning motivation. By understanding these factors,
appropriate learning strategies can be developed to create a more conducive
learning environment and increase students' English learning motivation.
B. Suggestions
Based on the conclusions previously stated by the researcher, namely
regarding the influence of the circle of friends on students' motivation to learn
English. Suggestions from researchers are as follows:
1. In the research results, the peer environment is in the moderate category.
Teachers are expected to direct students' behavior and peer environment.
Meanwhile, in the results of the study, learning motivation was in the good
category. So that teachers are expected to increase student learning
motivation by fostering awareness for students to feel the importance of
learning, communicating more closely, and creating pleasant conditions in
learning.
2. Students are expected to maintain their learning motivation so that their
motivation does not decrease, because learning motivation is already in the
good category. In addition, students should be even better at selecting
peers because peers greatly influence learning motivation and students
should be able to make peers as study buddies.
3. The researcher hopes that this study can be useful for future researchers
who are interested in exploring the effect of friendship circles on students'
English learning motivation. This research can be a basic reference for
similar research. Realizing the limitations that exist in this study,
researchers encourage future researchers to add other topics that have not
been listed in this study because there are still many other factors that can
affect student learning motivation.
