An Analysis of teachers' Difficulties in Teaching English in SMA PGRI

This thesis is about analyzing the difficulties of teachers in learning English.
The purpose of this study was to find out about the difficulties that were gained by
the teacher during the learning process. In this study, the author uses a type of
qualitative research that recognizes the role of the subject (researcher) when
observing facts, analyzing and interpreting facts outside of themselves and the subject
in question. The instruments used in this study are observation, interviews and
documentation. The source of the data in this study is the headmaster, English
teacher. The research data collected was then analyzed using qualitative descriptive
analysis techniques.
The results of the study indicate that the reason for the teacher's difficulty in
teaching is the lack of available media so that the teacher is not free in creating new
strategies to be applied in the teaching process. based on observations and interviews
that have been obtained by the authors where the teachers at SMA 1 PGRI have
guided their students to active learning using various ways such as advising,
approaching, observing students, actively learning students and focusing on ongoing
learning. As for overcoming the difficulties that occur in the teaching process that is
providing interesting material without using media but utilizing the school
environment such as utilizing the school park as a learning medium and always
providing motivation and encouragement to students so that students remain active in
learning.
A. Conclusion
Based on the description described in the previous chapters, it can be
concluded that based on observations and interviews that have been obtained by
researchers where the teachers have guided their students to active learning even
though the implementation of teacher learning does not use the media because of the
lack of facilities that can support teacher performance but the teacher tries to use
other media and is able to adjust the conditions in the learning process so that
learning can take place interestingly. With the support of adequate learning facilities,
the teacher is free to create new strategies so that students are more active in
receiving the material given by the teacher.
The way to overcome the difficulties experienced by the teacher when giving
material based on the results of observations and interviews, each teacher certainly
has a strategy in the teaching process to reduce teaching difficulties so that the
learning process. Because school facilities are insufficient so the teacher must make
as much material as possible using the media to be converted into manuals but still
interesting so that students remain enthusiastic in receiving the material and appear in
the learning process. In addition, as a teacher must be professional to be able to adjust
the situation and situation in the classroom. For example, giving a game that requires
media to make it more interesting but turning it into a manual game, but still
interesting and makes students excited again in teaching. In this case the teacher
managed to keep students active in learning even though they did not use media such
as laptops and so on.
B. Implication
Without reducing respect for all those who are competent in educational
institutions, the humble writer gives suggestions for better implementation of 1 PGRI
High School on Cokroaminoto Street. Suggestions include:
1. For principals, caregivers and teachers, they must discuss the
provision of facilities and infrastructure to support the smooth learning
process.
2. For the teacher council, the strategies used in overcoming the
difficulties that have occurred are good but still need to be added so
that students do not feel bored and more enthusiastic in learning in
order to create quality students.
