Enhancing The Student Speaking Ability by Using gambits Expression at Tenth Grade of SMA 14 Bone.

This thesis presented the research about Enhancing The Student Speaking
Ability by Using gambits Expression at Tenth Grade of SMA 14 Bone. This
research used quantitative method which used pre-experimental research with one
group pre-test and post-test design. The researcher used cluster sampling. The
sample consisted of 20 students from the X MIA of SMA Negeri 14 Bone. The
data on the students’ speaking ability were analyzed by using SPSS . The
instrument in this research was pre-test, treatment and post-test by using gambits
expression
The result showed that using gambits expression in speaking ability is
effective. It can be seen from the comparison data between the mean score of
post-test was significantly higher than pre-test (40,2000>28,2000). It means that,
there is significant difference after giving treatment. It indicates that, alternative
hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and null hypothesis (H0) is rejected.
A. Conclusion
Based on the result and analyzing discussion of the previous chapter, the
researcher concludes such as follows:
1. The students’ competence in using gambits falls into good score, it can be
seen through the students, The mean score in pre test is 28,2000 and in post
test is 40,2000.
2. The result of data analysis, it can be concluded that the result was 8
students got excellent classification, 4 students got good classification, 9
students got poor classification, 7 students got very poor classification.
B. Suggestions
By considering the conclusion above, the researcher believes that using
gambits of the tenth grade at SMA Negeri 14 Bone can be more improve by taking
into account the following suggestion;
1.The teacher should give guidance and motivation to the students in order
that they can learn English well, especially to use gambits.
2. The teacher should find or expand some technique and media in teaching
and learning gambits to improve the students competitions in order to
achieve excellent result.
