The Use Of Continuous Story In Improving Students’ Speaking Ability At The Tenth Grade Of SMAN 15 Bone

This thesis present research about the use of continuous story in improving
students’ speaking ability at the tenth grade of SMA N 15 Bone.The sample consisted
of 28 students of the tenth class at SMA N 15 Bone.The problem statement is Does
speaking ability improve through technique continuous story at the tenth grade of
SMA N 15 Bone? This research used Quantitative method by using experimental
group.In collecting data, the researcher got the students’ data by using a test namely
speaking test to find out the students’ ability in English speaking. The researcher give
pretest, treatment and posttest.The result of this research indicated that the use of
continuous story can enchance students’ speaking ability, it is proved by the value of
the Sig. (2-tailed) is lower than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). It means that the students have
high interesting in this method.
A. Conclusion
Based on the result of analysis in the preceding chapter, the researcher
conclude that studying speaking by using continuous story help the students SMAN
15 BONE especially Sosial fourth improve their speaking ability. It is proved by the
result of paired sample t test of pre test and post test after doing treatment. Based on
data of the Sig.(2-tailed) is lower than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05).
B. Suggestion
In learning English language espeacially speaking learning, there should
have some techniques or methods is good that teacher can apply in the classroom.
One of them is continuous story.
In view of fact that the use continuous story to speaking ability, the
researcher would ilke to give suggestion as follows :
1. The Teacher should be creative to manage the material and the classroom for
Teaching English such us the use of Continuous Story.
2. The Teacher should give aware to the students that speaking is one of skill
that important in English language.
3. The Teacher should be pay much attention to the students’ weaknesses in
studying English in order to students felt to be motivate.
