The title of this research The Students’ Perception In Understanding Discourse Patterns In Learning Reading Comprehension At Tenth Grade In SMAN 16 Bone. The research The objective of this research is to find out do the students at tenth grade in SMAN 16 Bone perception in understanding discourse patterns or not.rnThe population of this research is the tenth grade in SMAN 16 Bone. The sample of this research is the class exact one class in the classroom there are 25 students.rnThe method used in this research qualitative descriptive. this study employed a true through observation and interview distributed in September 2017 to 25 students. To know the students’ perception in understanding discourse patterns in learning reading comprehension.rnThe results of the research that the students’ perception in understanding discourse patterns in learning reading at tenth in SMAN 16 Bone still less. The understanding about discourse patterns in learning reading comprehension must be applied and excavated so that students can understand in the application of proper reading and correct.rnConclusionrnBased on the result of research that has been done by researcher about the students’ perception of SMAN 16 Bone in understanding reading comprehension, so that it can be deduced that the students of SMAN 16 Bone have learned about discourse patterns in learning reading that have been applied by teacher. the students’ perception in understanding discourse patterns in learning reading most the students already understand it. But some of the still less understanding. So the teachers still have an important role to provide understanding and continuous learning so that students can be better understand. There were contraints in reading, that were : 1. Difficult to understand the meaning of the word, 2. How to pronounce, 3. Less of confidence.rnSuggestionrnThe Engish teacher should be more creative to choose method or strategy in teaching reading, so that the students’ will be more interested and motivated to study English.rnThe English teacher should provide learning continuous so that the students can be better understand and have perception.rnSpecial for the next researcher should begin from now to study about research methodology so that they will get easy in the future.
