Teaching grammar using pointh as media at eleventh grade of SMA negeri 1 Dua Boccoe

This research is aimed at finding out the significance of grammar achievement in teaching grammar using power point as media at eleventh grade of SMA Negeri 1 Dua Boccoe. The population of this research is the students of the eleventh grade of IPS 1 at SMA Negeri 1 Dua Boccoe that consist 21 students. The writer applied purposive sampling, because she thought that they are easy to manage, they are active and smart. This research employs one instruments based on the problem statements investigated, they are grammar test. Grammar test consists of pre-test is given to the students to know the students’ grammar skill before applying reading aloud method and post-test is given to the students to know the students’ grammar achievement after applying teaching power point as media. After several meetings, this research finds out the use of teaching grammar by using power point as media significantly effective to improve the student’s grammar achievement. The result of this research shows : (1) the mean score obtained by the students through pre-test is 17.22 and post-test is 31.97 (2) the t-test value is higher than the t-table (6.01 > 2.09). It means that there is a significant difference between the result of the students’ pre-test and post-test. Therefore, null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted.rnA. ConclusionsrnBased on the findings and the data analyzing in the preceding chapter, the researcher draws conclusion as follows:rnThe using of Power point in teaching grammar increased the students’ achievement. Students’ prior ability of grammar before applying teaching grammar by using power point as media is still low, the researcher is proved the data that the most of students get very poor classification with mean score of students’ pre-test is 13.38. the students’ achievement of grammar after applying teaching grammar by using power point as media is significantly improved their achievement of grammar, it is showed by the data that most of them got good score with mean score of students’ post-test is 24.48.rnB. SuggestionsrnIn view of fact that the teaching grammar by using power point as media, has been proved to before effective in increasing the students’ grammar achievement, the researcher would like to give suggestions as follows:rn1. For teacher :rna. The teacher should be creative to manage the material and the classroom for teaching grammar such as applying teaching power point as media to improve students’ achievement in grammar.rnb. The teacher should give aware to the student that learning grammar is important in English language.rnc. The English teacher should apply this strategy as one of the ways to improve students’ grammar achievement to the English learning.rn2. For STAIN Watampone:rnAs a state college of Islamic studies especially for the library should prepare some books especially about English education to facilitate the English students to improve their knowledge and make them easy to be found a reference.rn3. For student :rnThe students of the sixth semester of English Education Department of STAIN Watampone have to manage their time to learning English.
