This thesis presents research about the influence of teaching techniquerntoward students’ motivation in learning English at SMP Negeri 1 Palakka.rnThe problem statement is: Does the teaching technique influence towardrnstudents’ motivation in learning English? The resesrcher used quantitative research.rnThe researcher used random sampling technique and took 20 students as the sample.rnThis research used one instrument. It used questionnaire. The variables of thisrnresearch were independent variable (the teaching technique) and dependent variablern(the students’ motivation in learning English).rnThe result of the questionnare about teaching technique showed that itrnincluded in the moderate category which was interval score between 62-64 and 65-67rnwith an average value of 64,45 and students’ motivation in learning English includedrnin the moderate category, which was in the interval score 71-82 with an average valuernof 79,2.rnThe hypothesis testing used regression analysis one predictor. The descriptivernanalysis showed that there was positive and significant influence of teachingrntechnique toward students' motivation in learning English of the VIII class at SMPrnNegeri 1 Palakka. It showed Freg = 13,68 > Ftable (0.01 : 1, 18) = 8,29 and Freg = 13,68 >rnFtable (0.05 : 1, 18) = 4,41. It means that H0 is rejected and H1 was acceptable. Thernteaching technique gave better result toward students’ motivation. In other words, thernteaching technique was effective and influence toward students’ motivation inrnlearning English.rnA. ConclusionrnAfter calculating and analyzing the result of the influence of teachingrntechnique toward students’ motivation in learning English research in the peviousrnchapter, it can be concluded that:rnThe result of the variable teaching technique toward student's motivation inrnlearning english was positive and significant effect on students' motivationrnvariable on the subjects of the VIII grade at SMP Negeri 1 Palakka. Then at thernsignificant Freg = 13,68 > Ftable = 8,29 (on the level of 0.01) and Freg = 13,68 >rnFtable = 4,41 (on the level of 0.05). Thus it can be said that there was a positiverninfluence of the teaching technique toward students’ motivation in the VIII gradernat SMP N 1 Palakka.rnB. SuggestionsrnBased on the conclusion given before, some suggestions can bernsubmitted that in English language teaching and learning at school and college,rnthe teacher need a good teaching technique and crate interesting situation becausernit will give effect to increase the students’ motivation in learning English. in otherrn47rnword, the students like to learn best when they enjoying with teaching techniquernby the teacher.rnThis research has found out the description about English languagernteaching learning at SMP Negeri 1 Palakka in term of teaching technique.rnLearning English by using some teaching techniques can motivate students tornlearning English more. The researcher suggests the teacher uses this technique andrnsome other techniques because it motivates students to learn English. Finally, thernwriter realizes that this paper is far from being perfect, because of that;rnconstructive critics and advice are really expected for the perfection of the thesis.rnHopefully, this thesis will be useful for all of us.rn
