An Analysis of The Students Errors In Using Idiomatic Expression In Speaking Skill at The Fifth Semester of STKIP Muhammadiyah Bone

The objective of this researcher was to find out the error in using idiomatic
expression in speaking skill at the fifth semester of STKIP Muhammadiyah Bone and
describe the source of l errors.
The subject of this research was the students of English study program
especially at the fifth semester that consulted of eight students. In this research, the
researcher used descriptive qualitative method.
After analyzing the students’ error made by the students,there were three
types of errors in speaking by using idiomatic expression; they were repetition,
correction, and stutters error. Most students made error in repetition error. The
source of error in speaking there were cognitive reason, psychological reason, and
social reason. Based the result of the research, the researcher concluded that errors
appeared in repetition when speaking. Whereas, errors made by the students are
caused by cognitive reason and social reason.
A. Conclusion
Based on the result of data finding and discussion in the previous chapter,
the researcher concludes that students of the fifth semester of English study program
of STKIP Muhammadiyyah Bone made errors in speaking. In the types of errors
includesrepetition errors, correction errors and stutters. The conclusion of this
research, as follows:
