The Effect of Community Language Learning (CLL) In Teaching English to Improve Students’ SpeakingCompetence at The Eleventh Grade of SMAN 26 Bon

The objective of this research is to know the improvement of students‟
speaking competence by using CLL method at eleventh grade of SMAN 26 Bone.
This research uses quantitative method with quasi-experimental design. The
population of this research was the eleventh grade of SMAN 26 Bone. The
researcher conducted pre-test, treatment and post-test. The sample of this research
was 50 students. There was one type of data is quantitative data. The quantitative
data were collected through assessing the students‟ speaking competence by
means of the pre-test and post-test. The data were the students‟ speaking test
scores. The validity of the data was obtained by using SPSS (Statistical Package
for the Social Science). The data of the test which were in the form of the gained
score was analyzed by using t-test with the significant level of p=0,05. In the pre-
test of control class, mean score is 65.25, and mean score in post-test is 68.44,
While the pre-test of experimental class is 67.68 and the mean score of post-test is
73.44. From the mean score of both classes look difference value, the result shows
that the post-test of experimental class was better than post-test of control class.
The result of significance test (t-test) post-test control class and experimental class
is 0,01
