The Effectiviness Of Spotify Application To Enchance Students English Pronunciation

This research aimed to find out the effectiveness of Spotify application to
enhance students' English pronunciation. The research method used quantitative
and the research design is pre-experimental research. The samples of this research
were 12 students in class VIII A by students’ at SMP Negeri Satap 5 Palakka used
the random sampling method. Researcher used word pronunciation tests and
recording as research instruments and these tests were conducted before and after
(pre-test and post-test) the use of the Spotify application as a learning medium by
using English Podcasts and songs. In this research there are two variables, namely
the independent variable is Spotify application while the dependent variable is
student pronunciation. The result of this research showed that the use of Spotify
application as a learning media had significant effectiveness to enhance Students'
English pronunciation. It could be seen from the paired test results showed that the
Sig. 2- tailed of 0.000 is smaller than 0.05 (0.000≤0.05). This showed that there is
a significant effectiveness of Spotify Application to Enhance Students' English
Pronunciation.
A. Conclusion
Based on the research conducted at SMPN Satap 5 Palakka, Bone
Regency, the research concluded that the use of Spotify application as a
learning medium was significantly effective in improving students' English
pronunciation. This can be seen from the Paired sample Ttest analysis
formula, obtained a sig. value of 0.000
