Implementation of Peer Tutoring Learning Model in English Grammar Teaching

This research aimed to show that the peer tutor model was more effective
for teaching English than the conventional method. This research was conducted at
MTs As’adiyah Uloe. This research was conducted using a quantitative approach
with a quasi-experimental design. In collecting data for this research, the researcher
used tests as the research instrument. The tests used to collect data were pre-test
and post-test. The pre-test was conducted before the implementation, and the post-
test was carried out after the implementation using the peer tutoring method.
Research data showed that the peer tutoring method was effective. It can be said
that the peer tutoring method was more effective in enhancing students' grammar
comprehension compared to conventional methods.
A. Conclusion
The peer tutor model was more effective for teaching english than the
conventional way. The research conducted was a quasi-experiment in which
the classes researched were two classes, controlled and experiment classes. To
measured students' abilities used a pre-test conducted at the beginning before
applying the method and a post-test conducted at the end of learned or after the
learned process used the method. The peer tutoring model was more effective

hesitate to asked questions because the one explaining the material was their
own peer.
It could been concluded that peer tutoring was a technique where a
group of students helps others in learned and could replaced teachers in
teaching. The peer tutoring method was effective in enhancing students'
understanding of the simple past tense. This could been applied not only in
teaching grammar but also in teaching various types of subjects.
