The Implementation of Show and Tell Method to Improve Students’ English-Speaking Skill at MTS. As’adiyah No. 5 Uloe

This research aims to find out whether the use of the show and tell method is
more effective in improving students' speaking skills compared to conventional
methods at MTS As'adiyah No. 5 Uloe. The research method used is a quantitative
approach with a quasi-experimental design. The sample for this research was class
VIII with a total of 56 students, who were selected using purposive sampling
techniques. class VIII A as the experimental group, totaling 28 students, and class
VIII B as the control class, totaling 28 students. Data collection techniques were
carried out by asking students to speak English. The researcher gave a pretest,
treatment and posttest to the experimental group while the control class was given a
pretest and posttest. The research results show that after learning using the show and
tell method you can improve your English-speaking skills. From the post test results,
the average score obtained by the experimental class was 70.89, higher than the
average post test score for the control class which was 64.28. This shows that the use
of the show and tell method can improve students' English-speaking skills. This can
also be seen from the t-test results which show 0.00
