Motivating Student on English Reading by Using theReadable Apps

This research aims to find out the use of Readable Apps motivating the students to
leraning reading. The participants in this research were students of class XI MIPA
4 SMAN 2 Bone with a sample of 30 students or one class. In this research,
researcher used quantitative methods with pre-experimental design. In addition,
the instrument was used a questionnaire to assess students' reading motivation. In
technique of data analysis researcher used the SPSS version 23 program. Of this
research showed that the average score of the student motivation in the
questionnaire was 78.93 which was categorized into the motivated category
according to the range of student motivation scores. While the results of the
reasearch using the One-Sample Test were that the sig. (2-tailed) is 0.00 which
means 0.00 < 0.05. Based on the explanation before, the Alternative Hypothesis
(Ha) of this research is accepted and the Nul Hypothesis (H0) of this research is
rejected. Which means the use of Readable Apps significantly affects students'
motivation.
A. Conclusion
The conclusion is that the use of Readable Apps is able to motivate
students to learn English reading. This is evidenced by looking at the results of
data analysis based on the average score of student motivation is 78.93 which
is categorized into the motivated category according to the range of student
motivation scores. This means that students were motivated to learn English
reading by using the Readable Apps. In addition, based on the results of the
one sample t-test, it shows that sig. (2-tailed) is 0.00 which means 0.00 < 0.05.
Based on the explanation above, the Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) of this
reasearch is accepted and the Nul Hypothesis (H0) of this reasearch is rejected.
This means the use of Readable Apps significantly affects students'
motivation.
B. Suggestion
Based on the results of the research, the researcher would like to
provide the following suggestions:
1. English Teacher
Based on the results of the research, English teachers should pay more
attention to their students. How they learn, what makes them lazy or reluctant
to learn English reading. Teachers have an important role in helping their
students' problems including their lack of motivation in learning. Use
interactive applications or learning platforms to make the reading process

more fun and interesting which can increase students' confidence and
motivation to learn.
2. Students
English is the second language that students need to know after the
first language. It is important for students to realize the importance of
motivation to learn so that they are able to reasearch with no pressure so that
they can understand the learning material well. Utilize tools such as
dictionaries, translation apps, or online learning platforms to help you
understand the reading better.
3. Futher Researchers
For future researchers, it is expected to conduct better research
because this research provides good results. It is expected to explore more
deeply the effectiveness of using the Readable Apps where in the process of
learning to read the application can attract motivation in learning to read.
