Using Computer Assisted Instruction For Multimedia Students In Learning English Reading Skill MULTIMEDIA STUDENTS IN LEARNING ENGLISH READING SKILL

This research aim is to find out the effectiveness of Computer Assisted Instruction
for multimedia students in learning English reading skill. The research employed
quantitative methods with pre-experimental design. The population of this research
was XI Multimedia of SMKN 2 Bone consists of 30 students. The way in technique
of data analysis researcher used the SPSS version 26 program. The results of the
pre-test showed that the minimum completeness criteria of students had not namely
75% of students who achieved the KKM score of 75. Only 5 students completed
the course with a completion percentage of 16.67% and 25 students did not
complete it with a percentage of 83.33%. The results of the student post-test showed
that there had been an increase in learning outcomes, there were 24 students who
completed it with a completing percentage of 80% and there were 6 students who
did not complete it with a percentage of 20%. The results showed that the mean
score obtained by students in the post-test (83.83) is greater than the mean score of
the students in the pre-test (63.33). While the result test of significance were that
the sig. (2-tailed) is 0.000 < 0.05, so as is the basis for decision making in the
significant t test, it can be concluded that H 0 is rejected and H 1 is accepted. In other
words, the use of Computer Assisted Instruction effective to enhance English
reading skill of multimedia students.
A. Conclusion
Based on the findings and discussion in the previous chapter, the
conclusions of the research are as follows: by using Computer Assisted
Instruction effective to enhance English reading skill of multimedia students
and students can better understand and determine the meaning and content of
reading through Computer Assisted Instruction in addition students become
interested in learning English and a very positive influence on improving the
reading comprehension skills of class XI multimedia of SMKN 2 Bone.
Starting on 24 th Juni 2024. The research was carried out for six meetings,
namely pre-test, treatments, and post-test. The result of this report can show
the relationship between the students pre-test and post-test where the mean
score of pre-test (63.33) was greater than the mean score of post-test (83.83).
Futhermore, the calculated significance value is 0,000 which is smaller
than (0.05). t countit was also proven by the test value of the post-test (11.32)
which was bigger than t-table (a) = 0.05. it means the hypothesis of this
research is accepted. Therefore the researcher concluded that “the use of
Computer Assisted Instruction is effective to enhance English reading skill of
multimedia students”
B. Suggestion
Based on the finding and discussion of the research, the researcher
proposes some suggestion as follow:
1. For English Teacher
The English teacher should be apply an appropriate technique in
teaching-learning process that effectively can develop students in
learning English reading skill. So, using Computer Assisted Instruction
is highly recommended. The English teacher should be creative to
manage the teaching and the classroom and do not use monotonous way
in teaching so that the students more interested in learning English

2. For The Student
The students are expected to increase their interest and ability in learning
English reading skill. They can use Computer Assisted Instruction to
facilitate them in learning English reading skill because this technique
gives many benefit as explained.
