The Relationship of Thinking Styles and Motivational Aspects in English Learning

This research aims to find out what thinking styles correlate with aspects
of students learning motivation in English language learning. Thinking styles is a
way of thinking chosen by someone to used their abilities in solving a problem
and draw conclusions. Each person is an individual who is different from one to
another other while Motivation is considered an important condition to facilitate
any activity. To create positive motivation in the foreign language learning
process, teachers need to have a clear understanding of the objectives, procedures
and techniques necessary to outline a new learning English. This research was
conducted at SMAN 14 Bone. This research was conducted through a quantitative
approach with a quantitative associative research design. The research data was
obtained using a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is Spearman`s
Rank Correlation Method, the sample of this study is 50 students with a total
population of all students consisting of 241 students, The results of the hypothesis
test analysis of the thinking style data and student learning motivation used the
correlation test with the intention of knowing the relationship between the two
variables. The results of the correlation test of thinking styles and student
motivation obtained a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.000
