The researcher interested to conduct as study entitled “The Implementation of
Video Dubbing as A Media of Guided English Conversation in Teaching
Speaking at SMA NEGERI 9 Students are unfamiliar to say English words
Teachers do not have various techniques teaching speaking about guided English
conversation.The aims of this research were to find out whether it is effective or
not using video dubbing as a media of guided English conversation in teaching
speaking through the result found in the pre-test and post-test the pre-test‟s score
showed an average value or mean of 32.40 from 20 students, that showed a low
scores of the students‟ speaking. Then, the researcher aimed to find the
improvement through the use of video dubbing as a media of guided English
conversation in teaching speaking to the students. The treatment of this
experimental group was learning through the use of video dubbing in helping the
students to improve their speaking skill. The students learn the speaking skill
through listening and watch the video dubbing repeatedly for 5 meetings. Then, it
challenged the students to practice their speaking skill through imitating the video
dubbing before did the post test. The pre test showed that the students had lower
knowledge in speaking skills with the mean score 32.40 from 20 students and the
result after giving the post test showed that mean 76.35 from 20 students.
A. Conclusion
The pre test‟s score showed an average value or mean of 32.40 from 20
students, that showed a low scores of the students‟ speaking. Then, the researcher
aimed to find the improvement through the use of video dubbing as a media of guided
English conversation in teaching speaking to the students.
The treatment of this experimental group was learning through the use of
video dubbing in helping the students to improve their speaking skill. The
students learn the speaking skill through listening and watch the video dubbing
repeatedly for 5 meetings. Then, it challenged the students to practice their
speaking skill through imitating the video dubbing before did the post test.
Furthermore, on the post-test showed a mean score 76.35 from 20 students
Then, it also showed that the post-test improved than the pre-test. While, the range
of the data distribution showed in the post test was narrower and with a lower
standard error. Thus, the video dubbing was proved as media that improved the
students‟ speaking.
Although it showed on the t test, paired sample t-test the researcher did.
The result showed the sig. (2-tailed) was 0.00 where it was lower than 0.05. which
was mean it rejected null hypothesis or there was effectiveness through the use of
video dubbing as a media of guided English conversation in teaching speaking.
B. Suggestion
Based on the conclusion above, the researcher put some suggestion as
follows:
1. For Teacher
The teacher should applied media to support the learning process such
as the video dubbing as a media of guided English conversation in teaching
speaking.
2. For Students
The students should realize that learning English conversation is
important while using a language to communicate, and realized that there so
many media that students could use as a learning media, especially video
dubbing, because it was challenging students.
3. For the Future Researcher
For the Future researcher, it can be the references for research about
using video dubbing as a media of guided English conversation in teaching
speaking . Although it is not perfect, then the future researcher can find more
innovative way in using media for learning English especially in English
speaking
