Implementing Mind Mapping as a Learning Tool to Enhance Students’ English Speaking Ability at MTs Al-Faaizun

This study aims to find out whether the implementation of Mind Mapping can
enhance students' speaking ability. This research was conducted at MTs-Al-
Faaizun. The population of this research was the 8th grade students at MTs Al-
Faaizun in the 2022/2023 academic year, which consisted of 60 students. The
research sample consisted of 20 students who were taken using the cluster random
sampling technique. This research is a type of quantitative research with a pre-
experimental design. In collecting data, this study used a speaking test which was
given during the pre-test and post-test. After testing, the results of this study
showed that there was a significant difference between students' pretest and
posttest scores. The students' mean score on the pre-test was 58.60, while the
students' mean post-test score was 66.60. This shows that the mean post-test
score was higher than the pre-test. In addition, the results of the significance (2-
tailed) show that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted with a significance value of
0.000
