Impact Of Task-Based Learning Toward On The Speaking Skill At The Indonesian Junior High School Students

The purpose of this study is to know the impact of task based learning towards on
the students speaking skill. This study used qualitative research. The participants
of this research were 23 students of eight grade at SMPN Satap 5 Mare and one
teacher as a respondent on the impact of task based learning toward on the
speaking skill. The researcher used observational field notes and a semi-structured
interview to collect data. The data analyzed by using data reduction, display, and
conclusion/verification. The results of this research that task based learning giving
impact for student. the task-based learning technique is considered very influential
in assessing student speaking tests because there are some students who are
assessed that the speaking skill is still lacking, with the application of this task-
based learning techniquThis is proven based on the results of documentation,
observation and interviews that Task based learning method gave a significant
impact on students in speaking skills. The impact is that students look
actitive,convident, vocabulary increase
A. Conclusions
Task based learning method gave a significant impact on students
in speaking skills. It can be concluded that task-based learning techniques
are assessed to have a great influence on the assessment of students',
because some students are assessed that their speaking level is still low
deficiencies in the application of this task-based learning technique.
students are trained to speak in every meeting although in task-based
learning it has advantages and disadvantages such as the advantage of
being able to improve students' learning ability and the disadvantage is
that students are lacking grammar, The prominence of task-based learning
lies in the fact that language learners engage in authentic use of language
by performing activities for the development of language.It goes without
saying that, the role of teacher to prepare learner in task-based learning is
significant. If the teacher prepares a method that students like, then this
can minimize students' difficulties in language.
B. Suggestions
Based on the conclusions, the researcher offer some suggestion that can be
a good distribution in order to increase the quality of English teaching
learning process and to improve the students’ ability in mastering English.
They are :
1. For the English teachers, they should analyze the target and learning
needs for students to choose the most appropriate and best materials
for the students. The appropriate materials make the students interested
to achieve the goal of learning. The learning process can be succesful
if the speaking materials were useful for the students‘ daily life.
2. For the students, they should improve their knowledge and ability in
English especially in speaking.
3. For other researchers was suggested to study this research in order to
get information and a new knowledge which still has relation to their
study. Then, to solve their problems in teaching speaking which has
some problems.
