Highlighting Students Reading Narrative Text Understanding Through Question And Answer Relationship Strategy

The purpose of this research is to find out whether the question answer
relationship strategy is effective in enhancing students’ reading understanding of
narrative text. The method used in this research is a quasi experiment. The sample
of this research is class X Ipa 1 as the experimental class and X Ipa 2 as the
control class. In data collection, the researcher gave the test twice, namely the pre-
test and post-test. The instrument used in this research is 10 multiple choice
questions about narrative text wich have been declared valid.The result is, the
researcher hypothesis ( ) was accepted and the null hypothesis ( ) was
rejected. In other words, question answer relationship strategy effective in
improving the reading understanding of class X students at SMA 16 BONE.
A. Conclusion
It is clear from the findings and analysis in the preceding chapter
that students' reading comprehension differs significantly between those
who are taught utilizing the QAR (Relationship Question and Answer)
technique and those who are not. Significant reading comprehension gains
were made by the experimental group of students. The post-test score,
which is greater than the pre-test score, demonstrates their improved
reading comprehension performance . in the pre-test and post-test the found
that the probability value (significant 2-tailed) value is lower than the
researcher's alpha (0.00
