The Effect of Using Podcast as a Learning Media on Students’ Pronunciation at Junior High School in Bone

This research aims to find out the effect of using podcast as a learning media
on students’ pronunciation at junior high school in bone. This research method used
a quantitative and design of this research was pre-experimental research. The
sample of this research was 12 students at class VIII C. The researcher used an oral
test as a research instrument and this test was carried out before and after (pre-test
and post-test) the use of podcasts as a learning media. In this research there are two
variables, namely the independent variable is the podcast while the dependent
variable is the student's pronunciation. The data analysis was processed by using
SPSS 26 version. The results of this research indicate that the use of podcasts as a
learning media has a significant effect on students' pronunciation. It could be seen
from the results of the paired test that Sig. 2- tailed is 0.000 lower than 0.05
(0.000≤0.05). It can be seen that there is a significant effect of using podcasts as a
learning media on students' pronunciation.
A. Conclusion
Based on the findings and discussions in the previous chapter, the researcher
can conclude that the use of podcasts as a learning media effective for students'
pronunciation. That can be seen from the analytical formula of Paired sample T-
test, it was found that sig. value was obtained, 0.000
