Ika Apriliana/02.18.4040 - Personal Name
This research contains about the use of shadowing technique in teaching
pronunciation. The purpose of this research was to determine the use of
shadowing techniques in learning pronunciation skills at SMAN 14 Bone. This
research used a qualitative method. Sampling in this research used a purposive
sampling technique, where the sampling technique was to take ten students of
class XI IPS 1. The instruments of this research were observation and interviews.
After that, the researcher made a transcription that collected, analysed, and
presented data on the findings of this study. The results showed that the
shadowing technique could improve students' pronunciation. This is proven based
on the results of interviews conducted with students. Students feel happy learning
to use the shadowing technique because they are able to apply segmental and
suprasegmental in pronunciation so that when doing shadowing students are able
to apply it with correct pronunciation
A. Conclusion

English pronunciation during oral activities isable to make students understand
what shadowing techniques are, pronunciation, types of shadowing and
pronunciation techniques as well as advantages and disadvantages of shadowing
techniques and make students practice shadowing techniques with correct
pronunciation
The role the shadowing technique to student for practicing English
pronunciation during oral activities is students know better what vowels,

teachers so that they do not experience difficulties in teaching and learning
activities.
3. For other researcher
Suggestions for further researcher, hopefully this research can be useful
for anyone who wants to take references in increasing the knowledge of
researcher about the use of shadowing techniques in teaching pronunciation skill
to students
