This thesis presents research about the effectiveness of PORPE (predict,
organize, rehearse, practice, and evaluate) Technique in teaching reading
comprehension at eleventh grade students of SMKN 7 Bone. The aims of this
research to find out the students, reading comprehension after through PORPE
(predict, organize, rehearse, practice, and evaluate) technique from the material of
reading text.
This research used a quantitative method. The researcher applied pre-
experimental design, which is to know whether there is effectiveness or not to the
subject, that is given treatment. The researcher used cluster sampling. The sample
consisted of 20 students which is the class multimedia at eleventh grade SMKN 7
Bone.
The result of this research shows that there is significant development of the
student achievement in reading by PORPE technique. It can be proved by the (p-
value) is smaller than α (0,000
