The Introduction Of Lyric Video Media In Learning English Vocabulary At The Seventh Grade Of Smpn 3 Bengo

This study aims to determine students' responses to the use of lyric video
media in learning English vocabulary. This type of research is called descriptive
qualitative. The participants were 15 grade VII students of SMPN 3 Bengo. The
results of data analysis showed that students were enthusiastic and interested in
learning vocabulary using lyric video media. Researchers also found that students had
a positive response about the use of lyric video media in learning English vocabulary,
especially on vocabulary addition and they were able to acquire new vocabulary they
encountered in lyric video media.
A. Conclusion
The students‟response in learning English vocabulary by using lyric video
media:
1. Most students had positive responses towards the use of lyric video media.
2. Students are more enthusiastic about learning English vocabulary by using
lyric video media
3. Students are interested in learning English vocabulary by using lyric video
media
4. Students increase their vocabulary by using lyric video media.
5. Students find new vocabulary through lyric video media.
B. Suggestions
Based on the finding and discussion of the research, the researcher
proposes some suggestion as follow:
1. For English teachers
Considering the positive response of the students, the use of lyric
video in vocabulary learning is recommended to be applied in teaching
English in the classroom. so that teachers are expected to be able to use this
lyric video media to provide enthusiasm and increase student interest in
learning in the classroom. because the lyric video media contains a lot of
vocabulary from the song lyrics contained in the lyric video media. and can
improve students' pronunciation and listening skills. But the teacher must be
able to choose the right songs and videos. to create a relaxed and active
classroom atmosphere. Teachers can see other video references on Youtube.
2. For English students
The students are advised to be more serious in learning English.
Especially for now, there are many lyric video that can be used as learning
material only by using a cellphone. Because, speaking English is very useful
in this era of globalization. They can learn English from various media such
as lyric video. Videos can be found easily on many sites on the internet or
they can look for other video lyric references on youtube.
