Investigating English Learning Problem In Student’s Speaking Skill At Indonesia Vocational School

The purpose of this research is to find out what problems are faced by
students in speaking, particularly those faced by students at the vocational school
of Bone. In this research, the researcher used qualitative research method withIN
observations and interviews. The researcher picked class eleventh grade as a
sample, which included 22 students. The researcher utilized observations and a
interviews to collect data. From the data analysis, the researcher found the
students’ English speaking Problem, the causes of the students English speaking
problem and the efforts of the students English speaking problem. (1)Inhibition,
nothing to say, low or uneven participation and mother tongue-use (2)Seldom
memorizing vocabulary, anxiety, lack of self-confidence, lack of motivation and
afraid to make mistake (3)More practicing at home, taking English course,
watching western movies and listening music.
A. Conclusion
Based on the research findings and discussion, it is possible to conclude
that the ten Vocational School students had some problems in speaking. The
problems that most students faced in speaking was having a lack vocabulary,
lack of motivation, poor pronunciation, grammar knowledge and fluency. The
causes of problems most students faced was afraid of making mistake,. The
students efforts had not been enough so they have to do some activities that
can help their problems in speaking.
B. Suggestions
Other Researchers
1. For Students
a.
the students should realize that English and English speaking are the
most important aspects of their future, especially after they are
graduate from vocational school they can use they skills in English
speaking and other skills to continue their study.
b. The vocational school after graduates must be prepared for the world
of work, and researchers believe we must begin studying English
starting from now and researchers hope to get a good employment in
the future with the skills they have.
2. For future researchers
This research focused on students’ problems in speaking skill, and the
causes of their problems were that they were afraid. From 10 students who
participated in this research, and all of them stated that they had problems
in speaking, so it will be interesting for other researchers to involving
more respondents because the researcher believe that not only these
respondents who have problems, but possibly other students , have a
problems in speaking.
