The Influence Of Teachers’ Feedback Technique Toward Students’ Vocabulary Knowledge At The Tenth Year Student Of Ma Yapit Taretta

The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of teacher's feedback on
vocabulary knowledge at the tenth student of MA YAPIT Taretta. This research
was conducted with a qualitative design with observations and interviews. The
subject of this research was MA YAPIT Taretta the tenth year student. The
research sample used a purposive sampling technique by taking one class and
serving as a sample selection. The instruments used in this research were
observation and interview. Based on the results of the research, using the teacher's
feedback technique as a learning technique in an effort to influence the
development of students' vocabulary. Teacher's feedback gives effect to increase
students' vocabulary knowledge, with this technique students are very enthusiastic
in increasing student activity in learning and students are given the opportunity to
respond to the material given by the teacher. As for the type of feedback used by
the teacher in the learning process, namely; teacher's feedback, writing feedback,
and positive feedback, by using these types of method, the teacher can provide
motivation and encouragement to students so that students can increase their
learning activity and students' vocabulary knowledge is better. This research
concluded that students felt very happy and enjoyed the learning process using
teacher's feedback techniques. The use of feedback techniques in learning can
give them motivation to increase student learning activities so that students'
vocabulary knowledge increases. The most teacher used in teacher‟s feedback are
oral feedback and positive feedback.
A. Conclusion
Bases on the findings and discussion the researcher concludes that the types
of feedback used by the teacher in the learning process are oral feedback, and
positive feedback. Students feel very happy and enjoy the learning process using
teacher's feedback techniques, beside that they can learn new vocabulary, increase
their activity in the learning process and are more free to express their opinions to
the teacher directly. The most teacher used in teacher‟s feedback are oral feedback
and positive feedback.
B. Suggestions
Based on the research result and conclusions in this study, the researcher
provides the following suggestions:
1. For teacher
English teachers must know students' needs, students' interests and
how far students' understanding of learning materials during the learning
process builds interest in learning so that students can be motivated
during learning. It is important for teachers to use various methods or
media according to student needs, to reduce student boredom and make
students more enthusiastic and interested in learning so that students'
abilities can increase.
2. For students
Students should practice and use teacher feedback techniques to
improve their vocabulary knowledge, students should pay close attention
to the material, take assignments seriously, and should pay attention if
given instructions in order to increase their vocabulary knowledge and
get good grades.
3. For further researchers
Because this research provides good results, it is hoped that other
researchers can do better than this research and provide better results. So
that teacher feedback techniques can be used in various lessons, not only
in vocabulary learning.
