Using Youtube Short Story as a Learning Media to Improve Indonesia Senior High School Students Listening Ability in EFL Classroom Context at the Eleventh Grade of SMAN 4 Bone.

The objective of this research is to determine using YouTube short story as a learning
media to improve Indoesia senior high school students listening ability at the eleventh
grade of SMAN 4 Bone. This research was undertaken as qualitative design with
observation, interview and documentation. The subjet of this research was in SMAN
4 Bone, espacially the eleventh grade. The sample of the research is taken by using
purposive sampling tecnique, the researcher takes 20 students. The sample is selected
based on the students’ ability and participation in the learning process. So, it can
provide accurate information about this reearcher. This researcher are the
observation, interview and documentation. The result of the resercher shows that
using YouTube short story as a learning media could improve students’ listening
ability. YouTube short story as a learning media makes students feel happy and
excited when they learn to use YouTube short story as learning media, they are eager
to use YouTube short story as a learning media because it is easy to acces at any time
and anywhere. Using YouTube short story as a learning media, students find it easier
to understand the material given and can properly handle the assigment tasks. Using
YouTube short story as a learning media is suitable for use as the learning media
listening and helping to improve students listening ability.
A. Conclusion
Based on the presentation of data and data analysis described in chapter III,
the researcher can finally provide conclusions about the using YouTube short story as
a lerning media to improve Indonesia senior high school students listening ability at
the eleventh grade of SMAN 4 Bone as follow: students feel happy when learning to
use YouTube short story as a learning media, they are anthusiastic about using
YouTube short story as a learning media because it is easy to access anytime and
anywhere. By using YouTube short story as a learning media, students find it easier
to understand the material given and easy to do the given task. Using YouTube short
story as a learning media is suitable for listening lessons and helps improve students
listening ability.
B. Suggestions
Based on the research resulth and conclusions in this study, the researcher
provides the following suggestions:
1. For teacher
English teachers should know the students needs and students interests
during the learning process build learning interests so that students can be
motivated during the study. It is important for teachers to use variuos ways or
the media according to students needs, in order to reduce student boredom and
to make students more enthusiastic and interested in learning so that students
abilities can improve.
2. For students
Students should practice and use YouTube short story media to improve
their listening ability, students should take more seriously the material, serious
the task, and must pay attention if given instruction in order to increase
listening ability and get a good grade.
3. For futher researchers
Because in this research gave quite good results, it is hoped that other
researchers can do better than this study and provide better result. So that
YouTube short story media can be used in variuos lessons not only in listening
lessons but also speaking or writing lessons and others.
