The Influence Of Using Webquest Towardsstudents’ Speaking Ability At The Eleventh Grade Of Ma As’adiyah Uloe

The objective of this research was to get empirical evidence of the Influence of
using Webquest towards Students‟ Speaking Ability at the Eleventh Grade of MA
As‟adiyah Uloe academic year 2021/2022. The subjects of the research were 20
students of grade XI towards Students‟ Speaking Ability at the Eleventh Grade of
MA As‟adiyah Uloe. The design was a pre-experimental design with one group
pre-test and post-test. The data of the test which was inthe form of the gained
score was analyzed by using SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Science) 22.
In the pre-test, the mean score was 61.05, and the mean score of the post-test was
78.30. From the mean score look difference value, the result shows that the post-
test was better than the pre-test. The result of significance test (t-test) post-test
was 0.000 while alpha (a) was 0.05, means that 0.020 < 0.05. It can be stated that
the Ho (Null Hypothesis) was rejected and Ha (Alternative Hypothesis) was
accepted. So, it can be concluded that the use of WebQuest influenced of Using
Webquest towards Students‟ Speaking Ability at the Eleventh Grade of MA
As‟adiyah Uloe academic year 2021/2022.
A. Conclusion
This research aimed to obtain empirical evidence about the influence of
Webquest media, by using daily expression on students‟ speaking ability at the
eleventh grade of MA As‟adiyah Uloe. Hence, the result of this research showed
that the use of WebQuest media was effective for students speaking abilities. It
could be seen from the finding and discussion in chapter three that the mean score
of students‟ pre-test was 61.05, which was lower than the mean score of students‟
post-test was 78.30. It was also supported by the statistical calculation, Sig. (2-
tailed). Where the t-test result showed 0,000 which was < significance degree
(0.05). It indicated that H1 was accepted and Ho was rejected. It showed that there
was a significant difference between the students‟ speaking abilities when taught
by using Webquest media. It means that Webquest media was an influence on
students‟ speaking ability. In conclusion, the result of this research showed that
using Webquest media influenced in towards students speaking ability at the
eleventh grade of MA As‟adiyah Uloe.
B. Suggestion
After covering the conclusions and the implementation of the research, the
researcher has some suggestions for the English teacher, students, and the next
researcher.
1. Educational institutions in general, and MA As‟adiyah Uloe in particular,
need to carry out about media in the learning process on the effective media
namely Webquest.
2 For the English teacher, In the process of teaching and learning process,
especially in speaking ability, choosing an effective media or strategy that is
appropriate to the students‟ abilities and learning objectives is important for
the teacher. The researcher suggests using the WebQuest media to teach
speaking ability in daily expression has been proven to be successful in the
class.
By using this media, the students will easier to practice speaking. Therefore,
Webquest media can be used to improve students‟ speaking ability in daily
expression especially to identify the expression o the dialog.
3. For the students, The researcher suggests the students when they studied
English subjects, especially in speaking ability either at school or home can
apply Webquest media because this media can practice easily through
watchingthe video, classifying the expression, practicing pronunciation, etc
into one source.
4. For the next researcher, The researcher hopes other researchers can use this
research as a reference to conduct their research in the same field. There
may be another more effective way to teach reading comprehension.
