This research aims to knowImproving Students’ Speaking Ability by Using
Describing Picture Strategy atEleventhGrade of SMA Negeri12 Bone. Data were
collected from 44 students at eleventh grade SMA Negeri 12 Bone. This research
used quantitative research and the research approaches were experimental teaching
with pre-test, treatments and post-test during six meetings.In pre-experimental
teaching, The researcher did analysing to recognize the students' problem in learning
English then the researcher found that the students had some issues in speaking.
Based on the data analysis, the result of research , it was found that the students’
speaking ability increased after implementing the describing picture strategy. The
mean of pre-test was48.75 and post-test was 77.89. It showthat the mean score of
post-test is higher than the mean score in pre-test (48.75
