The Use Of Educational Drama In Teaching Speaking Of Eight Grade Students Of SMPN 4 Sibulue

This research aims to know the use of educational drama to improve students
speaking ability. Data were collected from 25 students at eighth grade SMP Negeri 4
Sibulue by using random sampling that the researcher took from 3 classes. This
research used quantitative research and the research approaches were experimental
teaching with pre-test, treatments and post-test during six meetings. In pre-
experimental teaching, The researcher did analyzing to recognize the Students'
problem in learning English then the researcher found that the students had some
issues in speaking. Based on the data analysis, the result of research, it was found that
the students‟ speaking ability increased after implementing using educational drama
of pre-test was 14.12 and post-test was 16.8. It shows that the mean score of post-test
was higher than the mean score in pre-test (14.12
