This thesis discusses about the students’ perception of Student-Centered Learning in
the classroom at the eleventh grade of SMAN 2 Bone academic year 2021/2022. The
study aimed to find out the students’ perception of Student-Centered Learning in the
classroom at the eleventh grade of SMAN 2 Bone. This research includes qualitative
research with descriptive qualitative. Sampling in this study using the purposive
sampling technique, where the sampling technique is to take one teacher and seven
students. The data was collected by interview. This research researcher analyzed data
by reduction, display and drawing conclusions/verification. Based on the result of the
research that the use of Student-Centered Learning is effective to be used especially
in learning English because students become more active in class, and the learning
process is more fun so that students are not bored when learning. Therefore, it is
recommended for teachers to make learning interesting, especially by using learning
models of the Student-Centered Learning method to attract students' interest in
learning.
A. Conclusion
Based on the result of the finding and discussion in the previous chapter, the
researcher can take a conclusion on the students‟ perception of Student-Centered
Learning in the Classroom at the eleventh grade of SMAN 2 Bone.
Students' perceptions of using the Student-Centered Learning method based
on interviews with the students show that the use of Student-Centered Learning is
effective to use especially in learning English because students become more active
in class, and the learning process is more fun so that students are not bored when
learning. Therefore, it is recommended for teachers to make learning interesting,
especially by using learning models of the Student-Centered Learning method to
attract students' interest in learning.
B. Suggestion
After covering the conclusions and the implementation of the research, the
researcher has some suggestions for the English teacher, students, and the next
researcher.
1. For the English teacher
Suggestion for the teacher, hopefully the teacher can provide more
motivation so that students can be more active in learning. Therefore, the
teacher can apply the Student-Centered Learning method in the future,
especially in teaching English.
2. For the students
Suggestion for the students, the result of this research hopefully students
can be more enthusiastic and motivated to learn.
3. For the next researcher
Suggestion for the next researcher, hopefully this research can be useful
to anyone reference in increasing the researcher's knowledge of the students‟
perception of Student-Centered Learning in the classroom at the eleventh grade
of SMAN 2 Bone.
The researcher also expects this research can give advantages and source of
knowledge as information especially for English education. Besides that, this thesis is
far from being perfect, because of that; constructive critics and advice are really
expected to support this thesis in the future.
