The Effect of Communicative Language Teaching onSpeaking Ability at the Eight Grade Students of SMAN 1 Tonra

The purpose of this reseacrh was to see the Effect of Communicative Language
Teaching (Picture Strip Story) on Speaking Ability at the Eight Grade Students of
SMPN 1 Tonra. This research method was quantitative and the design of this research
was pre-experimental. The population of this research was 32 of the eight grade (VIII
A). The researcher used oral test as a research instrument and this test was carried out
before and after using picture strip story technique. The research data analysis was
processed by using SPSS 25 version. The results of this research indicate that the
application of Communicative Language Teaching with picture Strip Story technique
had a significant effect on students speaking ability. This could be seen in the results
of paired test that Sig. 2-tailed was 0.000 it was lower than 0.05 (0.000≤0.05). It
could be seen that there was a significant effect of Communicative Language
Teaching with picture Strip Story technique on students speaking ability.
A. Conclusion
Based on the data analysis, research finding, and discussion in the chapter
IV, finally the researcher concluded that:
Using Communicative Language Teaching (Picture Strip Story) on the
students speaking ability at eighth grade of SMPN 1 Tonra is accepted and
effectively applied in the learning process because there is a significant effect. It
can be seen from the analytical formula of Paired sample T-test, it was found that
sig. value was 0,000
