The Implementation of Talking Stick Model to Practice English Speaking Skill Ability at SMP Negeri Satu Atap 3 Cina

This study aims to find out the implementation of talking stick model to practing
English speaking skill ability. The study was descriptive qualitative case study
design. The participants were 25 students at the eight-grade students of SMPN Satu
Atap 3 Cina. The result of data analysis shows that students were interested, active,
brave, and confidently in learning English especially in speaking. The researcher also
found that students had positive perception on the use of talking stick model in
speaking skill both in the terms of vocabulary and pronunciation because the students
can repeat what the teachers said so that it my lead the students to more often practice
their speaking skill it can train them to pronounce the English words correctly.
A. Conclusion
This research is aimed to know the implementation of talking stick
model to practice English speaking skill ability at SMP Negeri Satu Atap 3
Cina. Based on the findings of the research, the researcher concludes that
most of the students is very interested, enthusiasthic on the implementation of
talking stick model to practice English speaking skill.
On the other hand, this research also to know sutents response about
the implementation of talking stick model. Because using talking stick model
can make students more be active in practice English speaking skill, in
addition it can train them to pronounce English words properly and correctly,
when they got the new word from the explanation our teacher.
B. Suggestion
Based on the finding and discussion of the research, the researcher
proposes some suggestion as follow:
1. For English teachers
Considering interview results from students regarding the
implementation of talking stick model to practice English speaking skill
ability is recommended to be used and makes the students is interested. So
the teachers are expected to use talking stick model in teaching speaking
skill because talking stick model can make the students be active in
learning process, so that it may lead the students to more often practice
their speaking skills and because of that little by little students can also
increase the pronunciation, got the new vocabulary.
2. For students
The students are suggested to be more aware of the importance of
learning English in this times of globalization. They have been able to
learn English in many media, so they have more than learned English at
school because now we can learn English from any available source.
