Developing Students Ability to Write Argumentative Paragraph Through Synectics Model of Tenth Grade Students at Man 1 Bone

This research is conducted about “Improving the Students’Writing Ability
in Argumentative Paragraph through synectics model to the Tenth Grade of MAN
1 Bone”. The objective of this research has to find out whether synectics model
improved students’ writing ability in argumentativeparagraph or not.
In conducting this research, the researcher used pre-experimental design.
The population of this research has 352 students. This research used purposive
sampling. The sample of this research was 20. The data were collected by using
students’ test and data was analyzed by SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social
Sciences).
The result of the analysis showes that peer review technique is very useful
to improve students’ writing ability. It could be shown by the diffrences of the
mean score obtained by the students in the post-test (90.20) is greater than the
mean score of the students in pre-test (74.30). The researcher inferres that the
students’ writing ability has improvement trough synectics model.
A. Conclusions
Based on the data analysis and discussion in the previous chapter, the
researcher concludes the result of this research shows that studying argumentative
paragraph through synectics model is one technique that can improve the
students’ writing ability. It can be seen of the students of X MIA CI at MAN 1
Bone had improvement in writing ability after applying synectics model,
especially in argumentative paragraph. The researcher proves the data that the
most of students get enough and very good score classification with mean score of
students’ pre-test is 74.30. The students’writing ability after applying synectics
model is significantly improve, it is showed by the data that most of students get
very good and good classification with mean score of students’ post-test is 90.20.
B. Suggestions
In view of the fact that through synectic model had been proved to
improve the students’ writing ability especially in argumentative paragraph, the
reseacher would like to give suggestions as follows:
1. The teacher could apply synectics model as references in teaching
writing. Therefore, the students are always stimulate the students’
interest and motivate them in learning writing. Also The teacher should
be creative moreover, the education system needs them to improve the
teaching skill according to the up to date technology. Now days, the
internet is widely used by lots of people. There are many websites that
can be accessed to get new technique in teaching. The equipment also
should be sophisticated and functioned perfectly to the students in class.
2. The students of X MIA CI at MAN 1 Bone have to develop their ability
in English. The students are more active during the teaching learning
process and the students should have a lot of interest and motivation in
learning English More ever, they will get a better result. The students
should increase their vocabulary mastery thus their writing will be
result.
3. The other researcher is suggested that other researcher may use the
research results as information or a reference to conduct the research
with the similar topic in the same design to improve the students’
writing ability with different subject.
