This thesis presents about Applying Report Text to Improve The Students
Speaking Skill At The Eleventh Grade Students of MA Al Junaidiyah Biru Bone.
This research used quantitative method which used pre-experimental research with
one group pre-test and post-test. The researcher applied cluster sampling technique by
choosing 10 students from XI IPA and 10 students from XI IPS. This research
employs speaking oral test. Speaking test consists of pre-test that was given to the
students to know the students’ speaking skill before applying the teatment and post-
test is given to the students to know the students’ speaking skill after applying the
treatment, while the data obtains through tests are analyzed with mean score and the
formula of T-test.
After several meetings, this research finds out applying report text as a
material of speaking is effective to improve the students’ skill in speaking. The result
of this research shows the mean score of post-testis significantly higher than pre-test:
the mean score obtained by the students through pre-test is 66.25 and post-test is
83.25. Therefore, null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and alternative hypothesis (H1) is
accepted.
A. Conclusion
The implementation of applying report text to improve the students speaking
skill of the eleventh grade of MA Al-Junaidiyah Biru Bone was applied through
activities as the following: Firstly, The researcher give the material about islamic
boarding school then think the material. Secondly, the researcher asks the students’ to
make a notes about the material has given. Thirdly, the researcher chooses a students’
who is to be first speaker to speak in front of the class and the last the researcher give
conclusion. It can be seen in pre-test and post-test. The result show that the mean of
pre-test was 66.25 post-test was 83.25. It showed that the mean score students’ of
pre-test was higher that the mean score students’ of post-test.
The result of this research showed there a significant different in students’
speaking ability, the result is H 1 and the criteria H 1 was accepted if the sig. is
