Improving Students’ Listening Comprehension Through Dictoglos Strategy at The Eleventh Grade of SMAN 30 Bone(S.TBI)

The research presenst about improving students’ listening comprehension by
using dictoglos strategy at the eleventh grade of SMAN 30 Bone.This research used
quantitative method by using experimental with one group pre-test post-test design.
In this thesis the researcher used cluster sampling. The researcher choose XI MIPA
class that consist of 31 students. The researcher gave pre-test, treatments, and post-
test. The data on the students’ listening comprehension were analyzed by using SPSS
21. The experimental group was given pre-test, treatment and post-test by using
dictoglos strategy. This result of this research shows that the students have good
listening comprehension. It can be seen from the comparison data between the mean
score of pos-test is significantly hingher than pre-test (90.00>79.25). So, it can be
stated that by using dictoglos strategy, students’ listening comprehension are know
good. The data analysis shows the result of sig. (2-tailed) of paired sample t test
(0,000) is smaller than 0,05. It means there is a significant improving in students’
listening comprehension result after applying dictoglos strategy. Based on the
findings above, it could be stated that dictoglos strategy can improve the students’
listening comprehension.
A. Conclusion
Based on the data analysis and the discussion in the previous chapter, the
researcher concludes that:
This research was implemented at the tenth grade students of SMAN 30
Bone. It started on 5 th September 2019. This research is successful to Improv
Students’ Listening Comprehension Through Dictoglos Strategy of class XI MIPA
at SMAN 30 Bone by using dictoglos strategy. The research was carried out in
eight meeting (Pre-test, treatment, Post-test) and it was successful in Improving
Students’ Listening Comprehension Through Dictoglos. As the result, their scores
are going up significantly. The students who just gains the mean of 46.56 in the
pre-test, are able to inctease their score up to the mean of 69.92 in the post-test. It
indicates that they make considerable improvement in some aspects of listening
comprehension.
B. Suggestion
In view of the fact that the dictoglos strategy has been proved to be
effective in students’ listening comprehension, the researcher would like to give
suggestions as follows:
1. For the English teacher must be creative in managing material that must be
integrated into the classroom.
2. For the improvement of the teaching English, the researcher suggest to the
English teacher especially writing should give the good method or media in
teaching English based on the students’ motivation.
3. For the students, Consider this method, the researcher suggests the students to
learn English by using this method. It can be easier to learning and understood
material of English.
4. For the other researcher. It is suggested that other researcher may use the
research results as information or a reference to conduct the research with the
similar topic in the same design about the improvement of watching video
short animated stories with different subject.
