This thesis discusses about Analyzing Students Speaking Ability through
Communicative Language Games of Eighth Grade at SMP Negeri 1 Sibulue in
academic year 2020/2021. The study aim to find out the students’ speaking
difficulties in learning speaking through Communicative Language Games of eighth
grade at SMP Negeri 1 Sibulue and students' speaking ability through
Communicative Language Games of eighth grade at SMP Negeri 1 Sibulue. This
research included qualitative research with descriptive qualitative. The subject of the
research is ten students. The data was collecting by interview and test. This research
researcher analyzed data by reduction, display and drawing conclusions/verification.
Based on the result of the research, there are students’ difficulties in learning
speaking through Communicative Language Games, such as inadequate of
vocabulary mastery, feel nervous when speaking in front of the class, and unable to
compose sentences according to grammar and the students’ speaking ability through
Communicative Language Games based on speaking test, there is an increase in
students’ speaking ability, it shows that the most students can use a variety of
vocabulary and expression, their pronunciation and intonation are usually clear, and
the speech is relatively smooth.
A. Conclusion
There are students’ difficulties in learning speaking through Communicative
Language Games. Based on interviews with five students, it can be concluded that
they inadequate of vocabulary mastery, felt nervous when speaking in front of the
class, and unable to compose sentences according to grammar.
The students’ speaking ability through Communicative Language Games
based on speaking test, there is an increase in students’ speaking ability. We can say
that communicative language games affect the results of students’ speaking ability.
Based on the research results, especially in the speaking test, it shows that the most
students can use a variety of vocabulary and expression, their pronunciation and
intonation are usually clear, and the speech is relatively smooth.
B. Suggestion
After covering up the conclusions and the implementation of the research,
the researcher has some suggestions for the English teacher, students, and the next
researcher.
1. For the English Teacher
For English teachers, the researcher hopes the teacher can used
Communicative Language Games more in the learning process so that
students can improve their English skills especially speaking skill as well as
by increasing or increasing students' vocabulary, pronunciation, and fluency.
2. For the Students
Suggestion for the students, the result of this research hopefully the
students can practice English speaking more using Communicative Language
Games wherever and whenever so that they are more fluent to speaking in
foreign languages, especially English language.
3. For the next Researcher
Suggestion for next researcher, hopefully this research can be useful to
anyone reference in increasing the researcher knowledge about Analyzing
Students’ Speaking Ability through Communicative Language Games of
Eight Grade at SMP Negeri 1 Sibulue.
