on observations, it was found that in the debate competition none of the students
had good speaking speed. The second problem is knowing how the students'
grammar accuracy is in the debate competition. Based on observations in the
debate competition, the researchers found that the grammatical accuracy of all
students was not good and some of them still used Indonesian during the debate
and also grammatical errors such as conjunction, past tense, and article.
A. Conclusion
Based on the discussion, the researcher conclude, from the first
question of the previous researcher, how are the speaking rapidity of students
in a debate competition. The researcher conclude that the results of
observations during the debate competition took place on average students of
class XI IPA 2 were still slow in speaking they only uttered about 40-70 words
per minute while those who were said to be fast in speaking were 160-200
words per minute so it can be said that in this study it was not. There are
students who are able to speak fast.
Based on the discussion, the researcher concludes, from the questions
of the two previous researcher, how are the students grammar accuracy in the
debate competition. The researcher concluded that the results of observations
during the debate competition took place on average, students of class XI IPA
2 were still not fluent in grammar. Students' grammatical accuracy is still
wrong or students do not know how to use good and correct grammar, the
average grammatical error of students is in the use of conjunctions, past tense,
and inappropriate word selection. Speaking and grammatical accuracy is
better, and the other five people don't speak fluently and look nervous when
speaking
B. Suggestions
Based on the conclusion above, the researcher will give suggestions to
all readers and especially for teachers and students:
1. For teachers
Like us, English teachers must have strategies when teaching in class.
So that students will be more active and not feel bored. One of the strategies is
to apply games related to creative speaking, grammar, and vocabulary to
improve their English skills
2. For students
The students should learn more about English, especially in speaking
and Grammar. The students must improve their achievements, students must
study more actively and actively to improve their vocabulary so that they can
speak more fluently and the grammar is also correct. So easily students can
improve all their skills.
2. For other researchers
Especially for future researchers, it is better to start from now on to
study the research methodology and this research can be a reference to make
research related to the same topic in the same design to find out how students
speak rapidity and students' grammatical accuracy in debate competitions with
different methods different.
