Developing Indonesian Junior High School Students’ English Vocabulary Understanding in EFL E-Classroom Context through English Videos as Assisted Learning Media

This research aims to develop Indonesian junior high school students’
English vocabulary understanding in EFL e-classroom context through English
videos as assisted learning media. The research method used a quantitative
research. The sample consisted of 10 students of class VIII A.
The result of this research is the average score before and after treatment.
After doing research that the use of English videos is proven to be more effective
in improving students' ability to write vocabulary. Students prefer to use videos
because students are more motivated in learning, make it easier for students to
understand the material, get opportunities, reduce boredom in learning, get
encouragement for new ideas, make it easier to remember, and practice
vocabulary in everyday life. This can be seen from the comparison data between
the post-test mean scores which were significantly higher than the pre-test (2.88 >
1.833).
A. Conclusion
At the end of this investigation, the researcher hopes to reach the
following conclusion:
Based on the data analysis study's conclusions, there is a significant
difference between pre-test and post-test. The mean pre-test score was 41.7
(poor), whereas the mean post-test score was 83.7. (excellent). The significant
difference between the pre-test and post-test was 2.88 > 1.833. It denotes that
the study hypothesis has been accepted. As a result, employing English
movies to increase students' vocabulary for class VIII SMP Negeri 1
Awangpone students are beneficial.
B. Suggestion
The researcher has some suggestions for English teachers, students,
and the next researchers.
1. For the English Teacher
For the English teacher, the researcher hope that teacher can use English
YouTube videos more in the learning process so that students can improve
their English skills, especially vocabulary skills.
2. For the students
Suggestions for students, the results of this study are expected that
students can practice writing English vocabulary more by using YouTube
videos wherever and whenever so that they are more fluent in reading,
interpreting, and speaking in a foreign language, especially English.
3. For the next researcher
Suggestions for further researcher, hopefully this research can be useful
for anyone who references in increasing the knowledge of researcher about
developing Indonesian junior high school students' English vocabulary
understanding in EFL e-classroom context through English videos as
assisted learning media.
