Improving Students English Vocabulary Through Learning Model With Bingo Game At Eighth Grade Students Of SMPN 1 Kajuara

This study aims to find out the interest in learning English vocabulary which is
taught through bingo games in class VIII SMP 1 Kajuara. This study uses a
qualitative descriptive research method. The research sample was taken using
purposive sampling technique, the researcher took 10 students. The sample was
selected based on the activeness of students in participating in learning, in order to
provide accurate information about this research. The research instruments were
interviews and tests. The results showed that the results of the research regarding
students' interest in learning English vocabulary through bingo games were good
where students felt more enthusiastic and active in further learning in English
learning and being taught the bingo game increased students' interest in learning
English vocabulary. The vocabulary ability of students before being taught the
game of bingo is still low. This is different from the students' vocabulary skills
after being taught the game of bingo. The test results before and after being taught
the game of bingo show that the test after being taught the game of bingo has a
higher score.
A. Conclusion
Based on the results of the presentation and discussion of the data in the
previous chapter, the researcher drew conclusions.
Student’s interest in learning English vocabulary before through bingo game,
students did not like learning English because they did not understand the meaning
and the methods used were not in accordance with the students' needs. Students do not
like monotonous learning methods, students like learning methods that can make
students active in learning, for example, methods using games, students telling stories,
and guessing methods. Furthermore, interest in learning English before being taught
the bingo game of class VIII students is included in the bad category, this can be seen
from the test results before using the bingo game, the lowest being 15 and the highest

using bingo games, students were also helped in knowing English vocabulary,
because learning by playing can create a sense of pleasure, students'
enthusiasm for learning activities and students can work together and actively
with their groups to solve the problems given. As a result, the learning process
becomes unsaturated, and is able to improve student learning outcomes. In
addition, the score from the test also shows positive results where the lowest
score is 75 and the highest is 90, this is included in the very good category (80-
100).
B. Suggestion
Based on the research that was carried out, the researcher would like to
give some suggestion :
1. English Teacher
Based on this research, it is recommended that teachers can
encourage students to have motivation and interest and confidence in
learning English, especially in learning vocabulary. Then it is suggested to
the teacher that students be invited to bingo games in the English learning
process so that learning is not boring and students can be more enthusiastic
and active in learning.
2. The Students
Based on the results of this study, students of SMPN 1 Kajuara,
especially the class VIII must have motivation and interest in English.
Students can make English a fun and not boring lesson then students have to
memorize vocabulary little by little, using interesting methods such as bingo
game.
3. The other resecher
The researcher hopes that the results of this study can provide
information about students' interest in English vocabulary learning through
bingo game. The researcher also hopes that the results of this study can
inspire other researchers to conduct research related to student interest.
