Students Acceptance on Choral Reading Method In Reading Skill At SMPN 8 Watampone

This thesis discusses about Students Acceptance On Choral Reading
Method In Reading Skill At SMPN 8 Watampone. This research aims to find out
students acceptance on choral reading method in reading skill. This research
using quantitative method. Sampling in this research using purposive sampling
technique,where the sample is to take 29 students from IX.2. The data was
collecting by using a questionnaire adapted from Yauri(2019) there are three
parts of questionnaire; Desire in Reading with 9 items, Perceived ease of use
Choral Reading Method with 5 items, and Perceived Usefulness of Choral
Reading Method with 6 items with the total number of items is 20. The data
were analyzed by using SPSS 21 by using multiple linear regression analysis.
The result of this research shows that the significance value for the
influence of DTLER and PUOCRM simultaneously on PEOUOCRM is 0.011 >
0.05 and F value count 5.418 > F table 4.10. So it can be concluded that H3 is
accepted which means that there is a significant influence of DTLER and
PUOCRM simultaneously on PEOUOCRM to students acceptance on choral
reading method in reading skill it means that students acceptance on choral
reading method.
A. Conclusion
Students acceptance on Choral Reading Method is accepted.it is
known that the significance value for the influence of DTLER and PUOCRM
simultaneously on PEOUOCRM is 0.011 > 0.05 and F value count 5.418 > F
table 4.10. So it can be concluded that H3 (table 3.11) is accepted which means
that there is significant influence of DTLER and PUOCRM simultaneously on
PEOUOCRM to students acceptance on choral reading method in reading skill.
So, from using choral reading method toward students and their acceptance of
choral reading method it can be concluded that students reading skill in reading
increased from comprehension in reading and their fluency.
B. Suggestion
Based on the research results and conclusion, the researcher would like to
give suggestion as follows:
1. For the English teacher must be creative on using model to reading text in
the classroom.
2. For the improvement of teaching English, the researcher suggest to the
English teacher should use choral reading method as alternative method in
teaching reading the students more active and confident and interest in
teaching learning process.
3. For the students, should be realize that reading is not difficult as they think.
Students should not feel shame in reading activities. They should not be
afraid of making mistakes. The students also are expected to have more
practice in the reading activity.
4. For other researchers. It can be suggested may use as an additional
reference for further researches. Moreover, it is expected to conduct further
researchers in different areas and topics.
