This thesis presents research about analysis of learner-centered method in
teaching at eleventh grade students of SMKN 7 Bone. The aims of this research to
know to find out the teacher's strategy in implemetation learner-centered in teaching
English. The teacher's strategy in applying learning to students is by giving
assignments to students and the teacher providing material that students will look for,
to build knowledge by self-study or independent study. This research used a
qualitative method. The sample consisted of 5 students from SMKN 7 Bone.
The teacher has met the requirements or has implemented a learn-based
learning process based on learner-centered method the characteristics of student-
centered learning where the characteristics of the learner-centered method are:
arranging learning activities related to memorable themes to students, providing
complex and challenging learning activities to train thinking conceptual and
analytical, helping students to develop and improve their understanding of critical
thinking and broad thinking skills, providing opportunities for students to choose
their own topics and work on them.
A. Conclusion
In the implementation of the learner-centered learning process. This means
that the learning system places students as active learning subjects. This can be
seen from the learning process that is carried out according to activating students
during the process and requires students to think critically in finding answers to
the tasks given by the teacher. The teacher's strategy in applying learning to
students is by giving assignments to students and the teacher providing material
that students will look for, to build knowledge by self-study or independent study.
Based on interviews, the teacher has met the requirements or has met the
characteristics of student-centered learning where the characteristics of the
learner-centered method are: arranging learning activities related to memorable
themes to students, providing complex and challenging learning activities to train
thinking conceptual and analytical, helping students to develop and improve their
understanding of critical thinking and broad thinking skills.
B. Sugesstion
Based on the conclution above, the researcher will give suggestions to all
readers and especially for teacher and student:
1. It is hoped that teachers and students will continue to participate in
launching the English learning process by actively implementing it and
collaborating in the application of student-centered methods in English
subjects to increase the activity of Class XI Perhotelan at SMK 7 Bone.
2. The writer realizes that this scientific paper is still very simple and far from
being perfect. As a first step, of course, the author experienced difficulties
and limited abilities. For that, the author thanks the readers who had time
to provide assistance for repairs.
