Problematics In Listening Learning Comprehension For Eleventh Grade Students OfSMKN 2 Bone

Thesis entitled “Problematics in Learning Listening Comprehension for
Eleventh Grade Students of SMKN 2 Bone” discussed about difficulties faced by
students in learning listening comprehension. The aim of the study were tofound out
the problems encountered the students from three factors; Listeningmaterial,
Listeners Factor, and Speaker Factor. Descriptive method was used toanalyze and to
find the solution about the problems. The research was conductedin SMKN 2
Bone.The population of this study was eleventh grade students of SMKN 2 Bone.
The number of population was 32 students from one classes.Purposive sampling
technique was used to select students that consist 25 studentsas the subject in this
study. Data was gathered by questionnaire and interviewwhile observation during
listening was used to confirm students’ answer. The result of problematics students’
in learning listeningcomprehension showed that listening is very difficult skill for
students who studyforeign language. It was based on three factors influencing their
listening werelistening material, listener factor, and physical setting. Therefore,
pronunciation, speed of speech, insufficient vocabulary, different accent of
thespeakers, lack of concentration, and bad quality of recording were major problems
encountered by students of SMKN 2 Bone. Understanding about students’ difficulties
can motivate and help the teacher to develop effective learning strategies for the
students to improve their listening abilities. It provided solutions also to overcome the
problems were: the teacher should adapt and improve listening material, activate
students’ vocabulary, give the students variety of accent while practice listening,
improve their pronunciation by training from native speakers, building students’
knowledge about the topic, give some strategy in listening, always motivate students.
The solutions were made as a suggestion for the teachers. The results of the study
may also be useful for those who are interested in this study.
A. Conclusion
Based on the analysis and discussion described above, the researcher
concluded that responding to statements on this issue "Problematics In Learning
Listening Comprehension For Eleventh Grade Students of SMKN 2 Bone". Based on
the data set in, all of students are unable to comprehend listening text. There are
eighth problems in students 'self learning that were found in analyzing students'
difficulties, they were: lack of vocabulary, poor grammar mastery, pronunciation,
lack of concentration, speed of speech, noisy, inability to apply listening strategy, bad
quality of recording. It is correct that the problems in listening comprehension faced
by students not only from the listeners themselves but also from content material and
environment of listening comprehension. Hence, the students have to study hard and
have more practice to improve their listening comprehension.
B. Suggestions
This advice is shown to the next researcher in order to be able to study more
thoroughly, so that things that have not been answered in previous research can be
more perfected and maximized in general.
