The Effect Of Using Media Realia Toward Vocabulary Mastery At The Tenth Grade Students’ Of Sman 8 Bone

The objective of this research was to investigate the effect of the using
realia media toward vocabulary ability at the tenth grade students of SMAN 8
BONE.
This research was undertaken as qualitative design with Observation,
interview and questionnaire. The subject of this research were the students of
SMAN 8 Bone, especially the tenth grade. The sample of the research was
taken by using purposive sampling technique, Researcher took 20 students. As
for the sample selected based on the activeness of students in participated in
learning, in order to provide accurated information about this research.
The instruments of this research were a observation, interview and
questionnaire. This research showed that by using realia media students were
able to find new vocabulary related to the surrounding environment. Realia
media helped students understood and found vocabulary on their own without
the help of a teacher. The used of realia media in the learning process gave
students the opportunity to use their minds in learning, in other words realia
allowed students to use all their senses (sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch)
to connect vocabulary with its meaning so that students found it easier to
understand vocabulary. Realia media helped in students vocabulary and
improved students' English skills in vocabulary mastery.
A. Conclusion
Based on the presentation of data and data analysis described in the
chapter III, the researcher could finally concluded about the effect of use media
realia toward vocabulary ability at tenth grade students of SMAN 8 Bone as
follows: by using media realia, students were able to find new vocabulary related
to the surrounding environment. Media realia helped students understand and
found vocabulary on their own without the help from the teacher. The used of
media realia in the learning process gave students the opportunity to use their
minds in learning, in other words realia allowed students to use all their senses
(sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch) to connect vocabulary with its meaning so
that students found it was easier to understand vocabulary. Media realia helped in
students vocabulary and improved students' English skills in vocabulary ability.
B. Suggestions
Based on the research results and conclusions in this study, the researcher
provided the following suggestions:
1. For students
Students should practice using media realia more in mastering
vocabulary, especially vocabulary related to learning material and vocabulary
related to everyday life. students must be more serious in receiving material
and doing assignments. Should pay more attention when given instructions.
2. For Teachers
Teachers should provide motivation and guidance to students in
teaching and learning activities so that students are more enthusiastic and
interested in learning.
3. For further researchers
Because in this research it gives quite good results, therefore it is
hoped that other researchers could research by further improving this method
or method so that it could support so that this method could be applied in
learning later.
