An Analysis of the Students’ Difficulties in Writing Essay by Using Think Pair Share (TPS) Strategy at the Eleventh Grade of SMAN 6 Bone.

This thesis presents research on an analysis the students’ difficulties in
writing essay by using think pair share strategy in class XI IPA 2 SMAN 6 Bone.
This research used a qualitative method. The respondent consisted of 10 students
of SMAN 6 Bone. This study aims to determine an analysis of the students’
difficulties in writing essay by using think pair share strategy. The research used
two instruments, they were test and interview. Based on the results of the students'
difficulties in writing essay test, it was found that students who get good essay
and students who get low. Based on the interview, the researcher found that the
students have difficulty in writing essay by using think pair share strategy.
A. Conclusion
Based on the discussion, the researcher concludes the results of
the writing test of class XI IPA 2 students at the eleventh grade of SMAN
6 Bone in writing essay that have been carried out and then analyzed
based on the result of the test of the students’ difficulties in writing essay
by using think pair share strategy, the researcher found that the test result
of writing essay by using think pair share strategy is two categories. The
first category is good. There are four students who get good essay. They
are AAA, EAA, ARV and FS. The second category is low. There are six
students who get low. There are FF, CDO, AAR, ARO, ANAIS and
ASR.
Based on the result of interview found in the students’ difficulties
in writing essay by using think pair share strategy. There are some the
students who found it difficult to write essay because they are not fluent
in English, there are a few words in English that they do not understand,
and they do not know grammar.
B. Suggestion
Based on the conclusions above, the researcher advise all readers
and especially for teachers and students:
1. For teacher
Suggestions for teachers in considering suitable teaching
methods in writing classes. By analyzing students' writing, the
teacher should pay attention to some of the students’ difficulties
in writing essay to improve their writing skills in using think pair
share strategy. This will make the students better understand how
to write essay.
2. For student
The students should learn more about English. Students
should improve their achievement, students should study more
actively to increase their vocabulary. So, students can easily
improve all their skills.
3. For researcher
Especially for future researchers, it is better to start now to
learn about the research methodology and this research can be a
reference to make other research related to this research.
