Using The Descriptive Video In Efl Context In Learning Vocabulary At Eighth Grade Of Mts An Nur Nusa

This research aims to know the result in using the descriptive video in EFL context in
learning vocabulary faced by eighth grade.The subject of this research is the eighth
grade of MTs An Nur Nusa. The reseacher chose the subject by using random
sampling way. The researcher chose MTs AN Nur Nusa as the subject of this
research. The participants of this researcher are 23 students. This research used
descriptive qualitative design. Technique of data analysis consists of observation and
interview. The observation and interview focuses to find out the result of using
descriptive video in learning vocabulary. The result of the research showe that, the
use of descriptive video was a very good for learning vocabulary. Based on the results
of observation, all students got good results in answering the test about descriptive
video. Based on student interview, the researcher concluded that, all students liked
and fell happy learning vocabulary in using descriptive video in learning vocabulary,
because the pronunciation was good and made them focus in learning. And learning
to use descriptive video makes them not feel bored in learning because they don’t
only use textbook in learning and by using descriptive video use more real pictures
and fun sound effect so that students are more enthusiastic in learning.
A. Conclusion
Based on the discussion described above, the researcher concludes that the use
of descriptive video in learning English especially vocabulary is very good and
suitable for young students especially at MTs An Nur Nusa class VIII. The researcher
obtained the result of using descriptive video using student observation and interview.
The researcher concluded that video media was very good for students to use and
made students more interested and did not feel bored in learning because not only
using textbook but by using descriptive video it was interesting because it used more
real pictures and good sound effects. It is evident from the test results given to
students they are able to answer correctly. The results of student interview which
concluded that they liked and enjoyed the use of descriptive video as medium in
learning. And stated that using descriptive video really helped them to add some
vocabulary, the researcher got good results where students got vocabulary changes
and could support the process of learning English and especially during a pandemic.
B. Suggestion
In this part, the researcher contributes two points in the suggestions. First, the
use of descriptive video is very helpful in learning vocabulary, especially in pandemic
conditions like today. Second, the use descriptive video can be applied in learning
English, especially in learning vocabulary. And especially during a pandemic.
