Analysis of Teacher’s Strategy in Overcoming Student’s Saturation in Learning English at The Ninth Grade of Mts As’adiyah No. 39 Itterung

This thesis discusses "Teacher’s Strategy in Overcaming Students' Saturation
in Learning English at The Ninth Grade of Mts As'Adiyah No. 39 Itterung ". The
main issues discussed in this thesis were; 1) What are the causes of saturation
learning English at the ninth grade of Mts As'adiyah No. 39 Itterung? 2) How is the
teacher’s strategy in overcoming students' saturation in learning English at the ninth
grade of Mts As'adiyah No. 39 Itterung?
To achieve the above objectives, researcher used a qualitative research
approach with qualitative descriptive research. Data collection was carried out using
the method of observation, interviews, and documentation carried out on students and
teacher. This research was carried out at Mts As'adiyah No. 39 Itterung in class IX.
The results of the study indicate that there were always students who were
saturated in following the learning process. This event occurs due to various factors.
Some factors that could cause students to be bored in learning were; Conflict in
learning environment, unsupported learning environment, unmotivation, learn
regularly or monotonously without variation and do something under pressure. To
overcame the boredom or saturated the teacher must be able to used several strategies
in the learning process to create a good and pleasant classroom atmosphere. There
were several strategies used by teacher in overcoming the saturation of students,
namely; Use games, use classroom interactive and connect class content to students’
life.
A. Conclusion
After the data obtained from the observations and interviews about "Teacher's
Strategy in Overcoming students’ saturation", the researcher can conclude the results
of the study as follows;
1. Regarding the saturation of students, the teacher must not be silent. The
teacher must do something so that students return to their learning activities
well. The teacher must use the strategy as an outline of direction in acting to
achieve the intended goal. Strategies that teacher often used when teaching are
connect class content to students’ life, classroom game and classroom
interactive, Regarding teaching and learning, strategies can be interpreted as a
general pattern of teacher and student activities in the realization of teaching
and learning activities to achieve the goals outlined.
2. The causes of students are saturated in learning due to various factors, these
factors are longer period time of learning, learn legulary or monotously
without variation, unspported learning environment, conflict in learning
environment, do something with force, and unmotivated. The learning process
does not always run smoothly sometimes there are some students who do their
own activities so that it interferes with other students. Students who do this
activity because they feel bored learning English. some say that English is
difficult and in delivering material sometimes the teacher's voice is unclear so
they do not understand.
B. Suggestion
Based on the results of the research, discussion, and conclusions stated above,
the researcher advises:
1. Teachers
The teacher is the spearhead in the learning process. The teacher's role is very
influential in students' overcome boredom, therefore teachers are expected to increase
capacity by extending the methods or learning strategies and insight knowledge.
2. Students
Students are expected to be able to continue to increase the motivation to learn to
take advantage of all the learning resources that exist, so that saturation can be
overcome so as to get good results in the learning process in accordance with the
expected.
