Improving The Students’ Reading Comprehension Through Discovery Learning Method At the Eleventh Grade of MA An Nur Nusa

The title of this research is Improving the Students‟ Reading Comprehension
through Discovery Learning Method at the Eleventh Grade of MA An Nur Nusa. This
study aimed to improve students‟ reading comprehension through Discovery
Learning method. This research used a quantitative method with one group pre test
and post test design. The participant of this research was 29 students of XI MIA . The
technique which was used in collecting data was Reading Comprehension test. It
consisted of 20 items of multiple choices reading comprehension test. To analyzed
data, the research used the SPSS application. After giving the treatment at the
experimental group of post-test, the result showed that there was two students got
very good classification (6.9%), nine students got good classification (31.1%),
eleventh students got fairly good classification (37.9%), five students got fair
classification (17.2%), and two students got poor classification (6.9%). At last, the
null hypothesis ( ) was rejected and alternative hypothesis ( ) was accepted,
because the criteria H 1 was accepted if the sig. (2-tailed) is .000
